Personal Data We Collect. TruPolitics collects data to operate effectively and provide you the best experiences with our services. You provide some of this data directly, when you register. We get some of it through your interaction with the TruPolitics App or the TruPolitics.com site. We also obtain data from other sources. We may also use services from other companies to help us determine a location based on your IP address in order to customize our services to your location. The data we collect depends on the services and features you use, and includes the following: name, email address, postal address, and other contact data; passwords and other security information for authentication and account access; demographic data such as age and gender; payment data necessary to process a payment for a subscription; usage data about how you interact with our services; and data about your location in order to identify your electoral district. When we ask you to provide personal data, you may decline, but then you may not be able to use some features or services.
How We Use Personal Data. TruPolitics uses the data we collect to provide and improve the services we offer, to contact you, and to enable political candidates and office-holders to better understand and reach their constituencies. In carrying out these purposes, we may combine data we collect with other public and private data sources, but we will not make available any such combinations to anyone else.
Sharing Personal Data. We share your personal data with your consent or as necessary to provide our services to you. We also share personal data with partners for the purposes described in this statement. You can opt out of some communications at registration [or anytime later by updating your profile information]. Some browsers have incorporated “Do Not Track” (DNT) features that can send a signal to the websites you visit indicating you do not wish to be tracked. We do not currently respond to browser DNT signals.
